Smoky Bacon Pasta!


Tonight’s dinner is a smoky bacon pasta dish!

Here are the ingredients!


• 1 tablespoon of the Hickory Smoked Sea Salt from Savory Spice Raleigh

• 1 box of Barilla Spaghetti

• 5 pieces of finely cut up bacon

• 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

• 1 tablespoon of salt- for the pasta water

• 1 tablespoon of olive oil- for the pasta water

• 1 cup of white wine

• ½ of a large white onion- cut into thin slivers

• 5 large cloves of garlic-peeled and chopped finely



To start with, I filled a large pasta pot with water and added in the oil and salt. I set it on high heat and covered it. Once it reached a boil, I added in the pasta and cooked it for 10 minutes.


In a large skillet, I added in the vegetable oil, onion, and garlic. I waited until the onions were caramelized and then added the pieces of bacon. I let this cook down until it was all crispy and then added in the wine and the sea salt. I let this come to a simmer while I waited for the pasta to be cooked. Once the pasta was done, I drained it and added it in into the skillet with the bacon. I gave it a toss to coat all the pasta and then served.
