Bacon and Onion Penne!

Today’s lunch is some bacon and onion penne in a white wine sauce!

Here are the ingredients!
• 1 box of Barilla Penne
• 1 tablespoon of salt-for the pasta water
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil- for the pasta water
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 2 large cloves of peeled and finely chopped garlic
• ½ of a yellow onion- chopped into slivers
• 6 slices of bacon
• ½ cup of white wine
• 1 tablespoon of garlic salt
• 1 tablespoon of black pepper
This dish is super simple and so yummy! I set the oven to 500 degrees, which is the broil setting and placed the bacon on a small baking sheet. I cooked the bacon for 2 minutes and then broke it into small pieces.
I filled a medium sized pasta pot with water and added in the salt and olive oil. I set the heat to high, covered the pot and waited for it to come to a boil. Once it was boiling, I added the pasta and cooked it for 8 minutes.
In a large saucepan, I added in the other tablespoon of olive oil, onion, garlic, and the crispy bacon bits. Once all of this started to smell yummy, which only took a minute or two, I added in the white wine, garlic salt and pepper. I stirred this together and let it make the sauce. I turned the heat to high to get the wine to simmer. I also covered it so it would simmer faster. I drained the oil out of the pan and added the bacon, onions, and garlic back into the pan.
